What should i do to stimulate hair growth on the head after shaving?

I have made up my mind to shave my hair since it is scanty. It is not old wife's tale that hair grows thicker after shaving as i have noticed that ppl who have shaved atleast once have better quality hair and its atleast 20% more denser. please advise.What should i do to stimulate hair growth on the head after shaving?
